Midsummer Madness: A Musical
Midsummer Madness is a contemporary musical produced by Sydney University Dramatic Society, based on William Shakespeare's famous comedy,
A Midsummer Night's Dream. As the lead graphic designer for this project, I worked closely with the director, photographers, and cast, to create a set of promotional collateral including two posters,
a graphic t-shirt, as well as online banners for the
Midsummer Madness Fundraiser held at Forest Lodge Hotel in February of 2022.
The shirts were available for purchase throughout the weeks leading up to the show, and were worn by many of the cast members during rehearsals.

T-SHIRT
The design for the Midsummer Madness exclusive t-shirt went through many iterations.


During initial planning and visualisations of the aesthetic for the play in late 2021, the reference material provided by the director included Olivia Rodrigo's album cover for Sour (2021), as well as a variety of queer and y2k-inspired fashion.
In later iterations, the photographic elements were replaced with a hand-drawn illustration as requested in order to better convey the story and highlight a key scene in the play.

The final shirt design features a digital illustration I created of one of the main characters of the play and custom hand-lettering for the Midsummer Madness logo mark.

A few weeks prior to the opening night, Sydney University Dramatic Society held a fundraiser and an associated social media marketing campaign.
For this, I created an online banner and post graphic as well as themed profile pictures for the cast and crew's individual Facebook profiles.
